After separating from service with the United States Army, Corey went on to graduate with degrees in Marketing, Chemistry, Biology, and a Masters degree in Accounting, culminating in earning his CPA license. He then worked for a private equity firm before joining Grant Thornton, LLC as an auditor where he gained experience in industries such as banking, real estate, restaurants, SAAS, entertainment, manufacturing, transportation, technology, Not-For-Profits.
Corey went on to work for successful national consulting firms where he performed project based tasks for clients ranging from Chart of Account clean up, ASC 606 and 842 evaluation and guidance, to technical accounting as well as fully automating team member positions to cut company costs and free up employees to perform other value add duties. He then consulted for Toyota Financial Services Corporation for two years where he facilitated the transformation from GAAP to IFRS, ran data analytics and evaluated results, performed month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes to prepare for the audit.
Corey successfully launched his own distillery, roofing company and construction company, where he held the positions of COO and CFO. His leadership pushed all three companies to have continued sales and growth in multiple states. He has secured and trained his replacements inside his companies and looks forward to consulting and growing other companies as a fractional CFO.
